The "Góndola" (Aerial Tram) tour is a
modified "Ski Lift" which covers a distance of 2.6
kilometers through the Costa Rican rainforest. The Tour
lasts approximately 90 minutes and travels at a speed of
2.6 kilometers per hour.
The Tram Ride
Our main idea
is to show all visitors the different levels of a
rainforest, including the treetops or “canopy” - the
hardest level to access, and up until now, the least
scientifically known part of the forest. The length of
the Tram ride is about 1 hour and 20 minutes. The canopy
is home to an enormous amount of flora and fauna that
inhabits the rainforest. In their eagerness to search
for light and space, many plants have colonized the
treetops, turning them into small ecosystems.
Fauna is very abundant throughout the tropical
rainforests; however, animals are difficult to spot
during the day. Our wildlife is free to wander naturally
as it is supposed to. The most common species found here
are butterflies, birds including toucans, parrots,
woodpeckers, sparrow hawks, eagle-hawks, tanagers, wrens
and many others. Reptiles like snakes and lizards, as
well as amphibians such as "blue jeans frogs”, can also
be found in our rainforest.

Those who have
ventured through the forest treetops have also
discovered interesting mammals. In this category we have
three monkey species, two kinds of sloth, two kinds of
anteater bears and of course a great number of bat
species. Insects are also abundant in the canopy and
many species are still unknown to
scientists.
From the Aerial Tram you can also
appreciate all the different shades of green, as well as
the various sizes and shapes that the leaves have
created as a strategy to capture sunlight. The course is
very secure and very quiet; this allows visitors to
listen to the many different sounds of the
rainforest.
Trails
On our trails you can
appreciate the heart of the rainforest, where there is
an abundance of plant and animal species. From these
trails we perceive the forest in a different way, we
have more time to take pictures, search for wildlife or
stop and look around. That is why the walk through our
trails and the Aerial Tram ride is an excellent
combination to get to know and appreciate the rainforest
from the ground to the treetops.
